Internship opportunities are offered year-round and are flexible to accommodate the student’s schedule
Magnolia Medical Clinic offers a six-week paid internship opportunity for high school students in which they will gain experience in the following areas:
- Observing appointments between medical providers and patients
- Observing appointments between psychiatric providers and patients
- Rotating with medical assistants and/or nurses
- Learning how to take vitals and prepare exam rooms for patients
- Join meetings related to clinic operations and rotating in different administrative positions
- Observing call center operations
- Observing billing operations
- Observing laboratory processing and interpretations
- Receiving HIPAA training
- Meeting with counselors and peer group support specialists to learn about the importance of behavioral health therapy in conjunction with medical treatment
- Attend virtual presentations educating students on health disparities and equity, current public health topics, different health care career options, current technology in medicine, and more
